Birkman Assessment

Birkman

While developing a psychological screening test for the U.S. Air Force in the late 1940’s, Roger Birkman (a WWII pilot himself) made a key realization: how an individual behaves under stress reveals a lot about that person’s underlying needs and motivations. And those, in turn, greatly influence how well that person performs on the job. Dr. Birkman built upon these insights to create a system correlating human behavior with occupational strengths. Today, more than 2 million people in over 5,000 different organizations have participated in the Birkman Method®. And this enormous comparative data set has made the profiling process even more accurate.

Certified in the Birkman Method®, our staff members can provide incisive, quantifiable and objective information about your:

  • Interests – what engages and excites you
  • Usual Behaviors – how you act when things are going right at work
  • Stress Behavior – how you act when there’s a problem at work
  • Needs – what you want and expect out of your work situation

Armed with this self-awareness, you can:

  • Determine what kind of environment you perform best in
  • Pinpoint alternative career choices
  • Make a well-considered career transition

Individuals aren’t the only ones who can benefit from this powerful tool, however. Implemented within an organization, the Birkman Method® can help:

  • Motivate employees to work faster and smarter
  • Build cohesive teams
  • Reduce stress, build trust, and enable clear communication
  • Clearly define current organizational or team culture
  • Identify a compelling vision
  • Facilitate and manage change
