Job Search Strategies

Once you’ve been through our Career Assessment and Appraisal, we can give you the tools you need to find and get the right job—on your terms.
You can choose from any or all of the following services, based on your particular needs.

Our recommended session sequence is as follows:

• Resume Review and Enhancement: We will help you develop an effective
  resume that markets your unique combination of experience, talents and
  education.
• Search Techniques: By learning how to grow your network of contacts,
  you will be better able to tap into the vast "hidden" job market. We
  will also show you how to sift through public sources, such as job
  listings, web boards, and other media outlets.
• Interview Practice: Learn how to ask and answer questions effectively
  to get the most out of your job interviews. We will conduct a
  videotaped practice session, using role-playing techniques.
• Personal Job Market Evaluation: In this "progress check," we will
  review what opportunities you have found, which ones you have pursued,
  and what responses you have received. We will then assess what the
  market is telling you and suggest next steps to bring you closer to
  your goals.
• Negotiating: When an employer is interested in hiring you, rarely is
  their first offer the best you can get. We will teach you how to
  negotiate effectively to not only earn appropriate compensation, but
  also establish a basis for mutual respect.
